Intro Sea Kayaking - Anglesey
Sea kayaking offers unrivalled opportunities to explore our fantastic coastline and experience the natural surroundings in a way that only a kayak can offer. This introduction to sea kayaking course is aimed at people who may have had limited experience in a kayak on flat water previously but is also suitable for those with no kayaking experience at all.
Overview
During the two days you will have the opportunity to experience handling a specialist sea kayak and to develop some of the basic safety and navigation skills required to travel on the sea with confidence. The weekend includes bed and breakfast accommodation, a packed lunch and evening meal each day in a comfortable family run house with shared rooms for sleeping. We aim to make the weekend as much a sociable event as it is informative. This course takes place around the beautiful coast of Anglesey which offers a huge variety of sea environments and conditions to suit all levels of ability and weather conditions we may encounter.

The Venue
Our Introduction to sea kayaking residential weekends take place on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. Anglesey offers one of the best sea kayaking locations in the UK with locations to suit all conditions, skill levels and weather. You will be based from a very comfortable family run guest house owned by the family our course provider.
Food & Drink
Good home produced food is provided from the Saturday morning breakfast and includes a generous packed lunch for both days on the water, evening meal on the Saturday evening and breakfast again on the Sunday morning. Guests are left to make their own arrangements on the Friday evening.
Who Runs the Course
We use a variety of qualified and experienced coaches and guides to run our courses and trips. All are trained, qualified and experienced in the type of canoeing or kayaking offered and are also first aid qualified. We may also have trainee instructors working on our courses with us to gain valuable experience. INSTRUCTOR / PARTICPANT RATIOS 1 instructor/guide to max 5 participants for this course.
Transport
You are responsible for getting yourself to and from the venue. We may be able to assist in organizing shared lifts etc.
Cost
Cost is shown below. Any variation in costs shown below are due to duration of the courses we offer. The use of equipment is included for those who require it or of course you are welcome to bring your own.
Timing
We ask people to arrive on the Friday evening. The 2 days are full days on the water usually subject to conditions and you should expect to finish by 4.30pm approximately on the Sunday.
What is not Included
Transport to and/or from the venue Personal Activity Insurance cover - We strongly recommend that you take out your own policy for activity insurance. The cost of any BCU certificates/awards.
Equipment
Equipment can be borrowed from the course provider for the weekend. Please let us know if you need to use one of our kayaks and other equipment.
How To Book
You can book now with our on line booking form. After we have received your booking form you will be contacted and asked for payment card details or you can send a cheque for payment. Payment is required in full in advance for all courses. It is not possible to accept payment on the day and your place will nit be confirmed until payment has been made.
